Present or Working???

by Tom White Jr. on June 3, 2011

When you show up to work, are you merely present for the hours that you work or are you actual working?  By working, I mean – are you maximizing your time and doing ALL the things you need to be doing to accomplish your job?  We seem to hear more and more complaints about the hours the Car Business requires.  I believe it’s not the hours you work but what you do within the hours you work that makes a difference.

Can you make an above average income working forty to forty five hours a week within a Car Dealership?  If you can’t, you might want to look at what you are doing while at work as opposed to complaining about the extra hours you HAVE to work to make up for the unproductive time you spend at work…

Make sense?

Seth had a really great post today on this subject that got me thinking…  Read it here!

If you could Change one thing at work…

by Tom White Jr. on February 22, 2011

If you could change one thing at your workplace and were given COMPLETE control over the implementation of the change, what would it be?

Would you design a new flex work schedule that allowed people to come and go at THEIR leisure – allowing them to get the job done but at the time they chose to do so?  Would you change a business process?  What about the dress code?  How about the Organizational Chart?

Seriously, if it was up to you and YOU had the power to change something within your company, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
